I invited the lovely Heather Held to do a special spring demonstration for our Guild. She said "I am so excited to do this. I love your guild so much!"
and this is the Description and Supply List that she provided.
Welcome the joy and beauty of the Spring Season with this beautiful offhand flourishing technique. We will combine vibrant watercolour and coloured pencils to create stunning flourishes that repeat simple motifs. Bring your favourite spring colours and a spirit of anticipation to this class as we watch the beauty of offhand flourishing spring to life. You will find a sense of peace and wonder emerge on the page as we work on these graceful designs. There is something for all skill levels in this special presenation.
Suggested Supplies:
Your favorite pointed pen, McCaffery Black ink, or any waterproof ink for the pointed pen
Practice Paper such as Maruman Imagination or Rhodia
Pencil, eraser and note taking supplies
One or two sheets of light coloured, heavyweight cardstock or watercolour paper. Our flourishes will be small and can fit on a 5x7 cad
a few watercolours or watercolour pencils. Heather will be using pinks, blues and greens. You will need a water dish, paper towel and a small pointed, round or filbert brush
A few coloured pencils to match your watercolour choices.
Optional supplies: Bleed-white or white coloured pencil. Swarovski crystals, metallic ink, or anything you would like to use to add sparkle and joy to your flourish.
